On weekdays at 4, 5, 6, and 10 p.m., you can watch his weather forecasts, and on Fridays at 5, 6, and 10 p.m., you can see his weather forecasts. In 2008, he received his certification as a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist from the American Meteorological Society.

Rector has been captivated by the weather since he was a child. Brandon began his broadcast meteorology career in 2003 at KRBC in Abilene, Texas, after graduating from North Carolina State University with a degree in meteorology. He began his career as a weekend meteorologist. Before going to Lincoln, he was promoted to morning meteorologist and then chief meteorologist during his stay there.
