Laura Halm is an American journalist who serves as a morning anchor at 10/11 NOW. Prior to moving to Lincoln, Laura worked as a reporter at WATE-TV in Knoxville. East Tennessee was her home for nearly 10 years, so Laura traded in (a lot) of orange for red!

Laura covered numerous critical topics in Knoxville, including investigations of the Tennessee guardrail safety system following the death of Hannah Eimers, a 17-year-old girl. As the family demanded reform, Laura accompanied Hannah’s parents to the state capitol and Washington, D.C. Laura, on the other hand, is probably best known for her Star Wars live shots at the premiere of “The Last Jedi,” despite the fact that she had never seen any of the films. Some could describe such live shots as “out of this world.”
Laura’s love for others is evident in the way she gives back to the community. In 2018, she participated in Dancing with the Knoxville Stars and raised thousands of dollars for East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, which was in desperate need of medical equipment. She attended the Rural Metro Citizen’s Fire Academy in 2019, where she learned more about the life-saving work that first responders conduct on a daily basis.
Laura received the Tennessee School Bell Award from the Tennessee Education Association in 2019 for her many tales of the problems and accomplishments that parents, teachers, and students face. Packing up during the COVID-19 outbreak has been both thrilling and unique for Laura, but the generosity Nebraskans have shown her so far has been a blessing.
