Since graduating in 1988, Baier attended Marist Academy, a private Roman Catholic high school in Atlanta, Georgia. Baier then attended DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana, graduating in political science and English with a BA degree in 1992. In March 2016, Baier hosted the only Democratic town hall with former State Secretary Hillary Clinton and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT). Baier co-moderated the first GOP presidential debate of the 2016 election cycle in August 2015, generating 24 million viewers in total and 7.9 million in the main 25-54 demo. Baiers held an interview with former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director James Comey in April 2018. More recently, DNC Chairman Tom Perez was interviewed for his first FNC interview as president of the DNC.
