Bret Baier Biography
Bret Baier is an American journalist working as FOX News Channel’s anchor and executive editor of Special Report with Bret Baier. There he also serves as the chief political anchor of the network. In addition to these roles, he also serves as the political anchor of the network.

Baier serves as the executive editor of Special Report with Bret Baier (weeknights at 6-7 PM/ET) and anchor at FOX News Channel. In addition to these roles, he also serves as the political anchor of the network. On joining the network, he started off by working in the Atlanta bureau prior to joining the network in Washington, DC. He also served as the moderator of a policy debate between Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) for The Senate Project. The debate happened in Boston, Massachusetts at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and was also aired on FNC.
In 2022, he enclosed live breaking news about Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and also interviewed Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba and President Volodymyr Zelensky. Bernie Sanders who is a former Democratic presidential candidate was the top-rated town hall. Furthermore, he also interviewed Democratic presidential candidate, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, in 2020.
Baier also made contributions to the network’s live coverage in Singapore of the U.S. summit with North Korea in 2018 and also interviewed former president Donald Trump. He also held an exclusive interview with Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir in October 2018 and discussed the death of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Still, in 2018, he interviewed the President of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega, and talked about the country’s civil and political unrest. He, later on, interviewed former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) director James Comey in April 2018.
In May 2017, he anchored President Trump’s first foreign trip, and in April 2017, and also held an interview with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and talked about terrorism and war in Jordan. Prior to that, Baier and MacCallum previously co-anchored President Donald J. Trump’s inauguration. He, later on, held an interview with the Dalai Lama in June 2016 during the Tibetan leaders’ visit with then-President Obama in Washington.
Baier alongside Martha MacCallum co-moderated the first GOP presidential debate of the 2016 election cycle in August 2015. In addition to that, he also co-moderated FNC’s third and second debates of the 2016 election cycle which were held in Des Moines, IA on January 28th, and in Detroit, MI on March 3rd. During the 2012 and 2016 USA general elections, he worked as co-anchor of FNC’s America’s Election Headquarters. Baier has also managed to interview well-known politicians including then-President George W. Bush, then-President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, then-Vice President Dick Cheney, and so many others.
