Gregg Jarrett Biography
Gregg Jarrett is an American Commentator/Author/Attorney working with FOX News Channel as a legal analyst/commentator where he joined the station in November 2002. He was previously working as a defense attorney and adjunct law professor. Additionally, he has also previously worked with NBC and ABC TV stations for over ten years as well as national networks Court TV and MSNBC.

In 1973, Jarrett graduated from San Marino High School. In 1977, he graduated magna cum laude from Claremont Men’s College with a degree in political science. He graduated from law school at the University of California, Hastings College of Law, in 1980, and served as a prosecuting attorney for a number of years in San Francisco with Gordon & Rees LLP. As of 3 February 2015, his California State Bar license is listed as “inactive.” Jarrett has taught law at the New York Law School as an associate professor and lecturer at several law schools.

He is also the author of the No. 1 New York Times best-selling book “The Russia Hoax: The Illicit Scheme to Clear Hillary Clinton and Frame Donald Trump.”
In his tenure with the station, he provided coverage of on-top news stories which include the 2013 murder trial of George Zimmerman and the crash of Asiana Flight 214 at the San Francisco Airport(SFO). He has also reported on a variety of stories which include the deadly EF5 tornado in Moore, Oklahoma, the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI and the inauguration of Pope Francis, Superstorm Sandy, and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. He also contributed to the network’s coverage of the 2004, 2008, and 2012 presidential elections.
Prior to joining FNC, he was serving MSNBC as an anchor and correspondent. There, he covered the Israeli/Palestinian conflict, the terrorist attacks on 9/11, and the 2000 presidential election from Tallahassee, Florida. He has also served as an anchor at Court TV for nine years. Gregg kick-started his career working as an anchor/producer at KCSM-TV(PBS) in San Francisco, California.
Later on, he went on to join WMDT-TV(ABC9) located in Salisbury, MD where he was serving the station as an anchor/reporter. He has also previously worked with KSNW-TV(NBC 3) located in Wichita, Kansas, and the independently-owned WKFT-TV located in Raleigh, NC.

In mid-May 2014, for personal reasons, Jarrett demanded Fox’s leave of absence. His leave was granted and he was replaced by other journalists without a date fixed for his return. Jarrett was detained in May 2014 by the Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport Police, who had been called to the airport bar following claims that Jarrett appeared drunk and behaved belligerently. Jarrett was taken to Hennepin County Jail and charged with contact with a police officer. In July 2014, Jarrett pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in connection with the attack. CNN confirmed that Jarrett’s arrest had taken place shortly after Jarrett had been checked out of the detox center. Jarrett had returned to Fox News by the end of 2014.
