Brian Briggs is an American journalist who serves KTVE as the weekend Meteorologist and weekday Reporter for KTVE/KARD since August 2018. Briggs went to Norman, Oklahoma to pursue his interest in meteorology after growing up in sunny San Diego, California.
His father, a retired Navy meteorologist, was instrumental in piquing his interest in the subject. His mother and sister, both of whom work in university development and teaching, encouraged him to talk about and educate about the weather. Minors in Mathematics and Broadcast Meteorology were included in his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology.
In addition, he interned at WCIA in Champaign, Illinois. Brian’s major hobbies include storm chasing and weather photography, but he also enjoys traveling and spending time with his family, as well as spending time with his dog Archie, when the weather is nice.
