Bruce Katz Biography
Bruce Katz is an American Meteorologist working for WVUE-TV in New Orleans serving as a chief meteorologist. Before joining WVUE-TV in January 2013, he worked as a chief meteorologist at WGNO-TV in New Orleans.
Bruce Katz Education
Katz finished high school at Lower and Grammar school at Sam Barthe in Metairie where he received a diploma in 1982. He then furthered his studies at Louisiana State University in 1982 where he attained a minor in Climatology and a degree in Broadcast Journalism in 1987. Later on, Bruce joined Mississippi State University where he earned a degree in Meteorology in 1991. While in college, he was honored with the American Meteorological Society Seal of Approval.

Katz works as a chief meteorologist at WVUE-TV in New Orleans, Louisiana. He joined the station in January 2013 working as a morning and noon meteorologist at 4 pm. Later on, Bruce was promoted to chief meteorologist in November 2022. He has been with the station for more than eleven years since he joined in January 2013.
Katz previously worked as a meteorologist at WGNO-TV, the ABC affiliate in New Orleans. As a meteorologist, he served the position for some time before later being promoted to chief meteorologist. Bruce served the station from January 1996 to November 2012 where he provided news at 5,6, and 10 pm. For his work at the station, he was nominated by the Associated Press and the Press Club Of New Orleans for the Best Weathercast.
Prior to joining WGNO-TV, he worked for WBRZ TV, the ABC affiliate in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. During his period at WBRZ TV, Katz served as a noon and morning weather where he provided weather news from 5 to 7 am. He served the station for six years and two months from November 1989 to December 1995. Earlier, Bruce worked at KLAX-TV in Alexandria where he served as a chief meteorologist for 18 months. He started his broadcasting career at KATC-TV in Lafayette where he served as a weekend Meteorologist.
