Brothers attended Har-Ber High School in 2015 where she obtained a diploma in 2017. In High School, she was a member of the Thespian Society Member, NHS Vice President, and Senior Class VP. Shortly after high school, she enrolled at Arkansas University where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism in 2020.
While in college, Ashlyn worked as an intern at ESPNU Campus in Fayetteville, Arkansas. After working at ESPNU, she moved and joined WCSN Har-Ber High School in Springdale where she served as a sports reporter. She served the station for more than a year from August 2015 to May 2017. In addition to working at WCSN, Brothers also worked at HBWN in Springdale where she served as a reporter and editor from August 2015 to May 2017. She also worked as a news producer and the main anchor from August 2016 to May 2017.

Brothers serves as a news reporter at WVUE-TV, the Fox 8 affiliate in New Orleans, Louisiana. Before joining the station in July 2023, she worked as a reporter and MMJ at KOTV in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Ashlyn served the station for three years from July 2020 to June 2023. Earlier, she worked for UATV in Fayetteville, Arkansas where served as a sports anchor and senior staff volunteer. Brothers also worked as a host and razorback reel producer from August 2018 to May 2020. In January 2019, she landed a role as a sports commentator and manager at UATV.
Prior to joining UATV, Ashlyn spent three months working for KATV in Little Rock, Arkansas where she served as an intern from June 2019 to August 2019. Previously, she served as a sideline reporter at SEC Nation and Network. She worked there for one month from November 2018 to December 2018. Before that, Brothers worked at NBC’s Sunday Night Football serving as a production runner from October 2018 to November 2018. While there, she gathered information, answered phone calls, and conducted administrative work.
Ashlyn began her journalism career at FOX 24 News/KNWA-TV where she worked as a production assistant. Later on, she secured a position as a digital content manager serving the role from July 2018 to October 2018. Prior to joining FOX 24 News, Brothers served as a student world news anchor at UATV before later being promoted to Student meteorologist. Prior to working for UATV, Ashlyn served as a Pig Trail Nation intern at KNWA-TV and Fox 24 News in Fayetteville, Arkansas. She served the station for one year from July 2016 to July 2017.

Brothers began her acting career in August 2008 where she appeared in various commercial promotions. At the time, she worked with GradeGov company in Springdale, Arkansas from August 2008 to September 2008. After that, she joined the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on NBC where she continued to act. Ashlyn stayed with the company for one month from October 2011 to November 2011.
While still working for The Tonight Show, Ashlyn also appeared on the Second City- Hollywood in Los Angeles. In Los Angeles, she learned how to do improvisation and comedy become later she started doing it in front of a large audience.
