Chase Golightly Biography

Chase Golightly is an American Award-winning reporter for KRDO Newschannel 13 since joining the station in August of 2017. Golightly is thrilled to be in Colorado Springs having lived in the Arizona desert for his whole life.

Chase Golightly Career

Golightly’s passion for journalism started in middle school where he would anchor the daily video announcements. After high school, he went and graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2015. He was a student reporter for KTAR News and anchor, reporter, and producer for ASU’s own radio station, The Blaze.

He got his first job in Yuma, Arizona where he anchored and reported for KSWT. Golightly covered drug tunnels running from Mexico into California and evictions that left dozens of families homeless. While at KRDO, Golightly has covered a variety of stories.

Some of his work earned him an Edward R. Murrow Award, a Colorado Broadcasters Association award for coverage of the 2018 Fort Carson Fire, and an Emmy nomination for his reporting during the massive 2018 hailstorm in Colorado Springs. During his free time, Golightly catches up on his TV shows, explores the beautiful state of Colorado, listens to his favorite band, and The Black Keys.
