Before working at WATE 6 News, Chelsea served as a news & entertainment reporter at KOMU 8 & Mid-Missouri CW. During her time at KOMU 8, she was in charge of gathering news, editing, writing, and shooting videos. Haynes began her broadcasting career in June 2017 working as a communication intern at ABC13 Houston. She also conducted post-production interviews, pitched story ideas, and researched. Prior to working at ABC13 Houston, Chelsea worked for Kilogram Box as a production intern.
She previously served as a news reporter at KBIA 91.3 FM in Columbia, Missouri. Chelsea also covered a wide range of news including politics, crimes, and several Interviews. She worked for the station for five months from August 2016 to December 2016. Apart from working as a journalist, Haynes served as a sales associate at Vera Bradley in Sugarland. Her duties at the company included handling the cash register and controlling shelf stocking.
