Chelsea Jones is an American anchor working for WFOR-TV serving as a weekend evening anchor and reporter. Previously, she worked as a weekend reporter and anchor at WPRI News in Providence, Rhode Island.

After graduating from high school, Chelsea attended the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland, College Park in 2012. There, she received a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and was a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. While studying, she was employed as a radio intern at the Washington Association of Black Journalists for five months.
After that, Jones moved and joined The Diamondback as an advertising sales representative from August 2014 to May 2015. Ten months later, she was promoted to marketing intern working there for six months. In addition to working at Diamondback, Chelsea also worked for the Tab as a staff writer and an anchor at WMUC Radio 88.1. Later on, she worked as a production assistant at Capital News Service in College Park. Prior to working at Capital News, she also worked for Pulsefeedz.com as a freelance writer from August 2016 to December 2016.

She joined the station in November 2022, after working as a weekend reporter and anchor at WPRI News in Providence, Rhode Island. During her time at WPRI News, Chelsea covered major breaking news on enterprise, weather, and politics stories. She also reported the story about the Underground Railroad in Rhode Island which won her two National Edward Murrow awards.
Her remarkable coverage includes the story of a local athlete’s journey who was addicted to drugs and later changed to become an advocate. Jones also reported the massive shooting in Providence which earned her two Emmy nominations from the Boston/New England Chapter. On top of this, she has also covered high-profile news including the Gov. John Bel Edwards won re-election, President Donald Trump’s visit to Monroe, and the 2019 governor’s race.
Chelsea previously worked in Washington D.C. as a news intern at Fox Television Stations for four months. Before that, she spent five months working as an anchor and reporter at Capital News Service in Washington D.C. Jones began her journalism career at WJLA-TV in Washington D.C. where she served as an intern from May 2016 to August 2016.
