Chris Egert Biography
Chris Egert is an American Emmy-Award-Winning Host/Anchor/Writer/Advocate/Speaker working for KSTP-TV in St. Paul, Minnesota where he serves the station as a Morning Show Co-Host for Minnesota Live. He has been working with the station since September 2021. Asides from this, he also serves the station as a Morning News Anchor a role he has held since February 2014.

Egert is a proud graduate of Huron University where he studied between 1992 and 1996. There, he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications/Public Relations. While there, he was an outstanding Communications Student of the Year in 1994, 1995, and 1996. Asides from this, he has also been a Member of the Men’s Basketball team that placed 8th in the nation NAIA Division II.

Egert works with KSTP-TV where he serves the station as a Morning Show Co-Host and Morning News Anchor. He joined the station in April 2012 serving as the station’s Weekend News Anchor/Reporter. Egert held this role till April 2013 when he went on to become the Co-Host of Twin Cities Livetill February 2014when he took up his role as a Morning News Anchor.
He made a return to his family and friends after spending over 20+ years in the Bold North. There, he was telling people’s stories from all around the country. Chris is privileged to be an Edward R. Murrow Award-Winning reporter and has received multiple Emmy Awards for his work covering the people of Minnesota.
Egert was also one of the first journalists in the world to arrive in Japan after the 2011 earthquake and Tsunami. There, he covered the historic hurricane season of the year 2004 while working in Orlando. When he was living in Omaha, he was privileged to cover the start of the War on Terror and accompanied military forces in 2001 as they left for Afghanistan right after 9/11.
Prior to joining the KSTP-TV team, he was working with KIRO-TV in the Greater Seattle Area where he was serving the station as a Morning News Anchor/Reporter. There, he worked between June 2007 and April 2012. Previously, he was also working with WFTV in Orlando, Florida serving the station as a 10 pm News Anchor/Reporter. There, he served between April 2002 and June 2007.
Asides from this, he has worked with KMTV News in the Greater Omaha Area he was serving the station as a Weekend News Anchor/Reporter. There, he served between June 1999 and April 2002. He has also worked with KNBN-TV in Rapid City, South Dakota Area between July 1997 and June 1999. There, he was serving the station as an Evening News Anchor.
Egert has also previously worked with KDLT-TV in Sioux Falls, South Dakota Area. There, he served the station as a News Reporter between August 1996 and July 1997. Previously, he was also working with KOKK-AM in Huron South Dakota. There, he was serving the station as a Radio Host / Commercial Production Writer & Producer between 1993 and August 1996. Away from work, he spends his free time emceeing a local charity event, or on some kind of sports court. One can also find him on Lake Minnetonka.
