Christy Calcagno is an American journalist working for WLTX as a morning news anchor since joining the station in June 2023. Previously, she worked for WTVCNewsChannel9 in Chattanooga, Tennessee as a weekend evening news anchor and morning reporter for 2 years.

Calcagno joined Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communication in 2014 when she finished her education at Saint Joseph Hill Academy. In 2018, she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism.
During college, she worked in local and national newsrooms including Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Circa News, NPR’s WKNO, and NBC Sports for the 2018 Winter Olympics. Also, she was a newscaster for WICB 91.7 FM and VIC Radio Ithaca. Moreover, she was an anchor, reporter, and producer for Ithaca College Television for 3 years. As a high schooler, she started a television show for the school’s HillTV.

Her passion for journalism is fueled by her devotion to the community. The native New Yorker is thrilled to tell stories of normal people doing remarkable things and give a voice to the voiceless. Moreover, she loves to be involved with the community including churches, charitable organizations, schools, and other associations countrywide. Aside from her journalism work, she leads the acknowledgment of great educators through the “Teacher of the Week” awards.
