Corey Thompson is an American journalist working for KCRG-TV9 as a meteorologist on the Alert Storm Team. Previously, he served the station part-time and interned while he was still in college.

Thompson joined Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Indiana when he finished his high school education at Iowa City High School. In 2008, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology in 2008. During his time in college, his interest in the weather was sparked when he participated in two 11-day storm chase trips on the Great Plains. Also, he was informed about presenting a weather forecast for television from Meteorologist Ginger Zee.
Thompson spent a summer working for the KCRG-TV9 Weather Lab as an intern alongside Meteorologist Joe Winters and the rest of the First Alert Storm Team. This gave him the chance to refine his skills as a TV meteorologist.
