Martinez serves as a meteorologist on the weekdays from Noon to 6 pm and across WPBF 25’s digital platforms. He owns the prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorology (CBM) Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society. Furthermore, he is also an active member of the National Weather Association, Meteorological Society, and NAHJ (National Association of Hispanic Journalists).

Martinez started his journalism career right after he graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology. After he graduated, he started working for KAVU-TV where he served as the co-anchor and morning show meteorologist. He, later on, started working for KENS 5 in San Antonio and KIAH in Houston where he also served as a broadcast meteorologist. He, later on, started working for WOFL-TV in Orlando where he served as the morning meteorologist and traffic anchor. Prior to joining WPBF, he previously worked for  WGCL in Atlanta where he served as the Severe Weather Meteorologist.

Martinez has also been awarded severally ever since he started his journalism career. For instance, he was awarded the Associated Press award for Best Weather Reporting for his coverage of Hurricane Isaac. Whenever he is not busy working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys researching tornadoes, cooking, working out, and heading to the beach.
