Dave Zawilinski is an American journalist working for WOWT 6 News Omaha as a 3 p.m. news anchor anchor since October 2022. He joined the station in October 2014 as a morning anchor. Previously, he served WOI-DT Local 5 News We Are Iowa (WOI-DT) in Des Moines, Iowa for 9 years.

As a morning anchor, he co-anchored Omaha’s Morning News on NBC every weekday for 3 and a half hours Morning managing editor overseeing producers and reporters.
Previously, he served WOI-DT Local 5 News We Are Iowa (WOI-DT) as the sports director. Before that role, he served the station as a weekend sports anchor, sports reporter, and fill-in anchor. While there, he was the field reporter for the NCAA Men’s and Women’s NCAA tournaments, Orange Bowl, Capital One Bowl, Iowa and Iowa State football games, NCAA Wrestling Championships Report, and shot highlights for weekly high school football shows. Broadcasting Hail Mary’s last-second win against LSU during the 2005 Capital One Bowl serves among his favorite sports stories.
Zawilinski served Spectra as a Wells Fargo Arena Production Manager. While there, he oversaw and produced video production for live sporting events and managed a crew of 10 people during events, shot and edited pre-produce segments.
