Governor Mike Pence chose her as a Distinguished Hoosier and in 2014 was an honoree of the Girls Inc. In 1972, she was crowned Miss Edwardsburg and Miss Blossomtime. Central Indiana awarded her for documenting her 60-pound weight loss.
