Dee Dee Myers is an American political analyst who worked as the 19th White House Press Secretary during the first two years of the Clinton administration. She was the first woman and the second youngest person to hold that position. Myers later co-hosted the Fair Time news show at CNBC and was a West Wing analyst.

Myers started her political career right after she graduated from college. She then began working in the 1984 presidential campaign of Walter Mondale where she served as a Deputy Press Secretary. Later on, she worked at California State Senator Art Torres where she served as a field representative. She then moved on to work in the office of Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley where she served as an assistant press secretary.

She, later on, started working at The White House where she served as a white house press secretary from January 1993 to December 1994. In 1988, she worked for Michael Dukakis’ 1988 presidential bid serving as a spokesperson. In 1990, he worked for Dianne Feinstein’s 1990 California gubernatorial campaign where she also served as a spokesperson.

In 1991, she joined Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign team and was, later on, tagged Clinton’s first White House Press Secretary after the 1992 presidential election. She worked in this role from January 20, 1993, to December 22, 1994, and was also the first woman to work in that position. Myers then started serving as Assistant to the President in September 1994. However, she did not have consistent access to Clinton’s inner circle and this would frequently be noted in news coverage.
