He joined the station in July 2023 working as a news reporter and fill-in anchor for seven months. In January 2024, he accepted a position as a senior news reporter and fill-in anchor. Before joining WMGT-TV, Dejon worked for Cumulus Media as an evening news anchor from June 2021 to February 2022.
Campbell previously worked as a news correspondent at The Bingham Group, LLC in Austin, Texas. He served the station for one year and four months from January 2020 to April 2021. He started his broadcasting career at the U.S. House of Representatives where he served as an intern. During his tenure there, Dejon was responsible for handling mail, writing scripts, and supervising phone calls.
Besides working as a journalist, Dejon served as a director of development and strategic engagement at the Alliance of Baptists. He served the station for one year and four months from February 2022 to May 2023. Prior to joining the Alliance of Baptists, Campbell served as a director of students for the Mt. Zion Church in Austin, Texas. While there, he worked for two years and one month from November 2017 to November 2019. Before that, he worked for New Hope Church as a director of Family Ministries in Raleigh-Durham-Chapel.
