Domonique Benn Biography
Domonique Benn is an American Emmy Award-Winning Anchor and Reporter working for KSLA News serving as an evening news reporter and anchor at 5, 6, and 10 pm. Before joining KSLA News, she worked for WRDW News 12 as an anchor and reporter.
Domonique Benn Education
After graduating from high school, Domonique attended the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication. While there, she graduated with a minor in English with a concentration in African American literature and a Bachelor of Science in Telecommunication News. Additionally, she is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Early, Benn was a board member of the Governors for the chapter before later becoming an active member of the National Academy of Television Arts.

She has been with the station for more than a decade since she joined in November 2010 where she has received several awards including six Emmy-nominated and National Edward R. Murrow awards. Previously, Domonique worked for WTKR News 3 as a reporter and anchor from January 2007 to November 2010.
She started her professional career as an anchor and reporter at WRDW News 12, the NBC 26 affiliate where she worked from November 2000 to January 2007. Since she became a journalist, Domonique has covered major breaking news starting from entertainment to political issues. She has also conducted multiple interviews with prominent people and leaders. Besides this, Benn has worked as an investigative reporter where her coverage has been picked by national media outlets and earned her several national awards.
Domonique is most recognized for her work which has earned her multiple awards including two regional Edward R. Murrow Awards and several Emmy nomination awards. In April 2009, she was honored with the “Best Anchor of the Year” by the Virginia Associated Press for her excellent work in Virginia. On top of this, Benn has also been listed as one of 30 talented young adults rising by Ebony magazine. Aside from being a journalist, Benn is also an active member of the March of Dimes and Ark-La-Tex.
