Matt Jones is an American Meteorologist working for KSLA News 12 serving as a chief meteorologist. Before joining KSLA News 12 in January 2023, he worked as a meteorologist at Spectrum News 1 in Milwaukee.

After finishing his high school education, Matt attended Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2006 where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science in 2011. He also holds a Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society.

Jones serves as a chief meteorologist at KSLA News 12 in Shreveport, Louisiana. Before joining KSLA News 12 in January 2023, he worked as a meteorologist at Spectrum News 1 in Milwaukee. He served the station for three years and three months from August 2019 to October 2022. Prior to working for Spectrum News 1, Matt worked for KY3 the KYTV affiliate in Springfield, Missouri. He served as a weekend meteorologist from August 2017 to August 2019.
Previously, he worked from June 2016 to August 2019 where he served as a morning meteorologist for KSPR-TV. Before that, Jones worked for WROC-TV Channel 8 as a weekend reporter and meteorologist where he served from October 2014 to May 2016. He began his television career as a morning meteorologist at KRTV in Great Falls, Montana. He spent two years and six months working for the station from May 2012 to October 2014.
Before working at KRTV, Matt worked as a professional storm chaser at Silver Lining Tours in Denver. While there, he was presented when the terrifying escaping of an EF5 that demolished the town of Joplin, Missouri, and had observed over 70 tornadoes. He worked for the station for more than a year from June 2010 to June 2011. Prior to working for the Silver Lining Tours, Matt served as a flash flood forecaster at Urban Drainage and Flood Control District from April 2009 to September 2009.
