Jones serves as the 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. meteorologist at FOX8. He previously worked for COX Media Group where he also served as a meteorologist from December 2018 to December 2021 in Dayton, Ohio. Prior to him joining COX Media Group, he previously worked for Media General where he served as a weekday morning meteorologist from May 2013 to December 2018 in Greenville, North Carolina.

Jones had previously spent about 6 months working for The Ohio State University Alumni Association where he served as a customer service representative from December 2012 to May 2013. Prior to that, he worked for The Ohio State University where he served as a customer service manager from April 1998 to 2012. He also worked for Ohio News Network where he served as a freelance meteorologist from February 2012 to August 2012. When coming to his education, he went to The Ohio State University, where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

During his tenure at Eastern North Carolina, he managed to enclose several severe weather events including Hurricanes Florence and Matthew. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends. He also enjoys trying out new restaurants and recipes, going to the beach, and doing a ton of other outdoor activities.
