McCall Vrydaghs is an Emmy award-winning and AMS-certified broadcast Chief Meteorologist for WHIO-TV in Dayton, Ohio. Vrydaghs joined WHIO-TV in 2012 as the evening weekend meteorologist.

McCall Vrydaghs Career

Vrydaghs serves as the chief meteorologist at WHIO-TV since November 2018. She forecasts weather from Monday to Friday, from 5 PM to 6:30 PM, and 11 PM. She went to SUNY Oswego where she attained her Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology. After she graduated from college, she landed a job at CNN Headline News Radio in Newburgh, New York where she served as a meteorologist from October 2005 to May 2010. She, later on, started working for Verizon FiOS1 News where she served as the weekend meteorologist. Most of her forecasts were aired in Long Island and New Jersey.

Since she started her career, she has managed to enclose several severe weather events including snowstorms, hurricanes, and tornadoes. In addition to that, she has also managed to track 15 tornadoes including one EF4 and three EF3s. She was also rewarded with the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society.

She is also a member of the AMS Station Scientist Committee. Furthermore, she was also awarded the Ohio Regional APME Awards for ‘Best Weathercast’ as well as the 2016 Ohio Valley Regional Emmy Award for the category of Weather. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.
