Ed Drantch is an American anchor working for WKBW-TV as a morning anchor. He joined the station in October 2014, after working as a general assignment reporter at 5, 5:30, 6, and 10 pm on WIVB/WNLO-TV in Buffalo.

After completing high school, Ed attended the State University of New York College at Oneonta in 2005 where he attained a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communication in 2008. He was also a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

Drantch works as a morning anchor at WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York. He joined the station in October 2014 serving as an anchor and reporter for one year. Later on, he secured a position as a morning anchor in September 2015. For his work, Ed has been recognized by the New York State Broadcasters Association as the “Best Morning Show anchor”. In 2017, he reported the deadly tornadoes in Western New York which earned him the Regional Emmy award.
In addition to this, Drantch has also received multiple awards including an Emmy award for his coverage of hospitals and the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, he worked for WIVB/WNLO-TV in Buffalo where he served as a general assignment reporter at 5, 5:30, 6, 10, and 11 pm. He served the station for three years from October 2011 to October 2014.
Before working at WIVB/WNLO-TV, Drantch served as a noon anchor, reporter, and morning anchor at WHSV-TV. As a reporter, he was in charge of creating shows such as “New This Morning” and delivering news reports. He spent nearly four years working for the station from February 2009 to September 2011. Ed started his broadcasting career at WNYW in New York City serving as a reporter and online correspondent. During his tenure at WNYW, he covered breaking news including the the final Presidential Debate at Hofstra University in 2008.
Earlier, he served as an intern at WABC-TV from May 2007 to August 2007. Apart from working as a journalist, Ed is also a mentor and coach at Reel Talent Company where he worked together with his fellow journalists. Besides this, he also works at GLYS WNY where he serves as director and helps children and the LGBTQ community live a better life.
