Smith serves as a meteorologist at WGRZ in Buffalo, NY. She previously worked for KRCG-TV for about two and a half years where she issued live weather reporting and wrote unique weather-related stories. Smith also publicized that one of the biggest events she had ever enclosed was the Jefferson City tornado which happened just before midnight on May 22, 2019.

Due to this reporting, she was featured in the Washington Post after participating in a 14-hour-long. She alongside Zach Paul got nominated in Missouri Magazine’s “Best Of” contest and was later on named Local Heroes for their work covering the dangerous weather that night. Apart from her work time at WGRZ, she is also very much involved with the National Weather Association (NWA) and the American Meteorological Society (AMS).

Smith went to Valparaiso University where she attained her Bachelor of Science in Methodology in 2017. She was recently selected for the Early Career Leadership Academy of the AMS for a three-year term on the Planning Committee. Whenever she is not working, she enjoys going to yoga classes, learning (attempting) a new recipe, and watching football.
