Emily Dwire is an American journalist who serves as the First News weekday morning anchor. After nearly two years at WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, and seven years at WPTA in Fort Wayne, she joined WANE 15 in July of 2021.
Emily Dwire Career
Emily covered a variety of breaking news stories, the George Floyd protests, and the various effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on families, organizations, and the community throughout her time in Omaha. As the Daybreak live desk anchor, she also reported on and updated key national and international stories.
Her career began at WPTA, where she created and anchored ABC21 News at Noon and anchored the ABC21 morning show for three years. Throughout her career, she worked as a full-time reporter, producer, and editor.
Emily is a Fort Wayne native who earned a Telecommunications – News option degree from Ball State University after attending Snider High School. Dwire enjoys spending time with her husband and puppy, Nash, while she is not at work. She enjoys trying new dishes, attending concerts and festivals, and attending Colts, Komets, and TinCaps games.
