Twomey joined Valparaiso University in 2019 when he finished his education at Carl Sandburg High School. In 2023, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Meteorology and a History minor. During college, he was involved with the Northwest Indiana Chapter of the American Meteorological Society and the Indiana Iota Chapter of the Phi Delta Theta, where he was the brotherhood chair.
