Eric Hanson Biography
Eric Hanson is an American journalist working for KCCI News 8 as an anchor of KCCI 8 News This Morning since August 2014. In addition, he tells the stories of Iowa in “This is Iowa” segments. He joined the station in May 2000 and has served the station for more than 2 decades. Previously, he worked part-time at Wartburg College as an adjunct professor teaching television production.

Hanson also worked as a reporter at KWWL in Waterloo. There, he did double-duty for a year as an adjunct professor at his alma mater, Wartburg, teaching television production. He has visited each corner of the state, England, Haiti, and South Africa through his stories.
Hanson loves assignments concentrating on features that make Iowa a good place to live. For instance, he covered elderly musicians who strum their fiddles in an auto garage and fraternity brothers who show up unannounced at high school football games.
