Slinde joined West Virginia University after finishing her education at Rosemount High School. She later graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in college, she played Division 1 Women’s Volleyball. She was also the on-field host for the Pirates minor league affiliate, the West Virginia Black Bears. Moreover, she began her own web series for WVU Sports named “The Mountaineer Way.”
Slinde furthered her studies at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University. In 2021, she graduated with a Master’s degree in Sports Journalism.
During her time in Phoenix, Slinde worked as an anchor and reporter for Cronkite News on Arizona PBS. She covered the Phoenix Suns in the 2021 NBA Finals and the University of Arizona Baseball team in the College World Series. Also, she provided color commentary for ASU Volleyball on the PAC 12 Plus network.
