Ethan Rosuck is an American Meteorologist known for working for WIFR -TV in Rockford, Illinois where he served the station as a First at 4 and Weekend Evening Meteorologist. He worked with the WIFR team from September of the year 2018 to October 2022. Ethan now serves as the City of Highland Park Communications & Events Coordinator. He undertook this role in the month of October 2022.

Rosuck works with the City of Highland Park as the Communications & Events Coordinator. Prior to this, he was working for WIFR-TV where he serves the station as a First at 4 and Weekend Meteorologist. The Chicago suburbs are native knew from a tender age that he wanted to be a meteorologist. This led her to join ABC7 and WGN News which connected him with meteorologists Tom Skilling and Jerry Taft and ignited his love for the weather.

He worked his way through Ball State University where he obtained a major degree in Meteorology and Climatology and a minor in Telecommunications Sales and Promotion. During his time at Ball State, he was working as a weather forecaster for the college news station NewsLink Indiana and the college radio station WCRD 91.3 FM. Later on, he was promoted to Chief Weather Forecaster for his entire senior year at WCRD.

He has also previously interned at WIFR in the summer of 2017 where he was working under Chief Meteorologist Mark Henderson and then Weekend Meteorologist Andrew Stutzke. During his internship, he learned the ropes of being a broadcast meteorologist and working in a full newsroom. For him, he was lucky enough that time was on his side and he got a full-time job as the Weekend Meteorologist in September 2018.

At WIFR, he forecasts the weather every Tuesday to Thursday on 23 News First at 4, Friday on 23 News at 4, 5, 6, and 10 PM along with 23 News Weekend on Saturday. He states that working in this field required one to sometimes go out of their comfort zone.

Asides from this, he also mentions that one meets some great people and gets to tell an amazing story in the end. When he was a freshman at Ball State, a professor asked him what was the most important job of a weatherperson and he answered that it is to save to people’s lives and that has stuck with him ever since.

Away from work, he enjoys bowling, all Chicago sports, watching TV, sleeping in, or just spending the day with family and pets, going out to eat, and golfing. Asides from this, he also enjoys going to Chicago to see his friends and trying local craft beer breweries. A surprising fact about him is that he is color-blind.

He states that depending on color, it is harder for him to distinguish between two shades side by side. Additionally, he explains that it is mostly blues and purples but some reds, browns, and greens also confuse him. Asides from that, he is also a big fan of apple pie and apple crisps.

His favorite holiday happens to be Hannukah where they have lots of great family traditions which make it from holiday and includes playing competitive dreidel. For him, his favorite season is summer, and states that he enjoys nature outside but feels happier and more active during that time. He states that what he loves most about this season is playing a terrible round of golf, having a bonfire or grilling, playing with his bags, and eating outside with friends and family.

Among his favorite sports are hockey and baseball and is a fan of the Blackhawks, and White Sox. His favorite movies include Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, the James Bond series, Speed, and The Blue Brothers. On the other hand, his favorite book and author is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins respectively.

For him, his most daring feat is hoping to skydive or bungee jump. However, his most daring thing is going to storm chase for a class at Ball State. Rosuck also states that he had never been storm chasing prior to that and that for him it was intense. He goes to further explain that they saw 14 tornadoes during the two-week trip to the Great Plains in May 2016. His first tornado was quite scary but very cool in the end.
