Frank Carpano is an American journalist working for WJAR NBC 10 in Providence, Rhode Island serving as sports anchor/reporter. He has been working with the station since 1980.

Carpano works at WJAR NBC 10 in Providence, Rhode Island where he served as a sports director and primary sports anchor. While at the station he covered numerous World Series, Olympics during that time, and Super Bowls. Additionally, he is a two-time Olympic torchbearer, and received  a New England Emmy award for his series “Getting Frank in Shape.” That series followed Frank as he prepared for the Olympic torch run.

Moreover, Franks also worked for NBC during the 2006 Olympic Games, reporting on the games. That was for the network’s owned-and-operated stations across the country. Frank was also a fill-in sports anchor at WNBC-TV in New York City for several years. Additionally, Carpano hosts “First and 10” during the football season and “The Providence College Coach’s Show” during the college basketball season. In addition to hosting the “Thanksgiving Football Feast, the CVS/Caremark Downtown 5K, and the annual “CVS/Caremark Charity Classic Preview Show.”

He is also the host and executive producer of “Varsity Life,” a weekly 30-minute show about high school student-athletes. This show, co-produced by Cox Sports and NBC 10, airs every Monday night at 7:30 p.m. on Cox Sports Channel 3. The show is also available on turnto10.com. Furthermore, Carpano also hosts a college basketball post-game show that airs on Cox 3 following select PC basketball games. Additionally, Frank has handled announcing duties at Championship boxing matches in Atlantic City and Rhode Island.

He has also been the public address announcer for Providence College men’s basketball games for the past dozen years. Moreover, every year, Frank volunteers his time as an emcee and as an auctioneer at a variety of charitable events. This includes the CVS/Caremark Charity Classic, which is held each year. In addition, has been named “Sportscaster of the Year” by the Sportswriters ten times and the National Association of Sportscasters.
