Gary Horcher Biography
Gary Horcher is an American Reporter/Anchor working for KIRO 7 News in Seattle, Washington where he serves the station as a Reporter and Weekday Evening Co-anchor. He has been working with the station since June 2003.

Horcher attended the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. There, he studied between 1989 and 1991.

Horcher works with KIRO 7 News where he serves the station as a Reporter. There, he also co-anchors the evening news at 4 p.m., 5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7 p.m., Monday through Friday. Prior to joining KIRO 7 News, he was working with KWTV in Oklahoma City where he had worked for about five years. Through his 22 years of street reporting, historic news just seemed to happen around him. Upon his arrival at KWTV, a mile-wide F-5 tornado ripped the Oklahoma City metro in half, In this time, he took pride in finding hope and human courage in stories people will find difficult to watch.
He states that much of his inspiration came from the courageous stories of the Oklahomans who survived the 1995 Murrah bombing. His weekly “Strangely Named Towns” segments were also a very popular, award-winning exploration, uncovering the myths and curious legends hidden in every tiny dot on the map. Prior to moving to KWTV, he had reported for about 5-years at WBAY-TV in Green Bay. There, he covered everything from two consecutive Super Bowls to a propane-train disaster that forced the Army to evacuate a little cheese-making town for an entire month.
He kick-started his career working with WISN-TV in Milwaukee, his hometown. Soon after starting an internship there in the year 1991, he followed a tip that broke the Jeffrey Dahmer serial-killer story to the world. Asides from this, he also won several awards that year while still working as an intern. Later on, after about three years, he was the first reporter “live” from the prison where Dahmer himself was murdered.
