Geoff Bennett is an American editor, reporter, news anchor, Contributor, and Chief Washington Correspondent working for PBS NewsHour. He joined NBC News in November 2017.

Prior to joining the PBS NewsHour, he worked for NBC News. During his working time there, he served as a White House correspondent. He also worked for MSNBC as a substitute anchor.
While working at NBC News, he earned recognition for his in-depth and exclusive reporting on the delivery delays at the U.S. Postal Service. He also covered the Trump and Biden administrations. Furthermore, he provided extensive and defining coverage of the migrant family separation policy and the first Trump impeachment inquiry. Moreover, Bennett was among the NBC team that won the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Overall Excellence in 2022.
His career also took him to work for NPR. While there, he began as an editor for Weekend Edition. After some time, he was elevated to a reporter covering Congress and the White House. His journalism career began at ABC News’s World News Tonight after graduating from Morehouse College. He has appeared as a political analyst on ABC News and CBS News. In addition to that, he has hosted C-SPAN’s Washington Journal public affairs program.
