Hank Allen is an American meteorologist working for WGNO as the chief meteorologist since joining the station in March 2013. Previously, he worked for Sports and Spirits as a founder for 7 years.

Allen joined Mississippi State University in 1999 when he finished his high school studies. In 2003, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Broadcast Meteorology and a Communications minor.

Allen has worked for WGNO as the chief meteorologist for more than a decade. His career with the station started in March 2007 when he served the station as a meteorologist before leaving in December 2012. He then founded Sports and Spirits and worked as its founder for 7 years. There, he produced weekly content for online distribution and did weekly interviews with ambassadors, distillers, owners, and media members.
Previously, Allen kickstarted his meteorology career at KCAU in Sioux City, Iowa. There, he presented weather casts daily and anchored harsh weather broadcasts. Further, he also made public appearances and hosted events. He serves as a member of the American Meteorological Society and holds its Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal of Approval.
Allen developed an interest in the weather when he was a young child, watching summertime thunderstorms and harsh weather with hopes of getting a day off school due to winter snow. This passion steered him toward a career in which he hopes to share accurate weather information and hopefully save people’s lives during harsh weather.

During his free time, he loves to watch sports, learn about history, and work out. A big fan of the craft cocktail movement, he has season tickets to MSU football and enjoys tailgating before the home games. Annually, he goes storm chasing in the middle of the nation and he loves getting in a car with a map and exploring the small towns of America.
