Hayley LaPoint is an American meteorologist working for WMUR as a weekday meteorologist since she was promoted in September 2021. Before that role, she served the station as a weekend morning meteorologist for 2 years. She joined the station in August 2014 as a weekend evening meteorologist. Previously, she spent 3 years as a weekday morning meteorologist at WPTZ in Plattsburgh, New York/Burlington, Vermont.

Hayley LaPoint Education

LaPoint joined Lyndon State College in the Green Mountains of Vermont in 2005 after finishing her high school education. In 2009, she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and an Associate’s degree in TV News. During her time in college, she worked as a student meteorologist for News 7- Lyndon State College. In 2008, she won the Vermont Association of Broadcasters Scholarship Award. Moreover, she was a weather intern at WHDH.

Before her time in New England, LaPoint spent 3 years as a weekday morning meteorologist at WPTZ in Plattsburgh, New York/Burlington, Vermont. She launched her career in Fargo, North Dakota, where she served KVLY-TV & KXJB-TV. While in Fargo, she earned he Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the American Meteorological Society. This made her the first V meteorologist to earn the distinction in the Fargo TV market.

LaPoint joined the American Meteorological Society (AMS) Board of Broadcast Meteorologists in 2013. In this role, she evaluates and chooses meteorologists from around the country eligible for the prestigious AMS CBM seal. She has had an interest in the weather since childhood, often spending hours in front of the family camcorder with a large map pointing out the next big nor’easter bearing down on New England!
