Jacob Morse Biography
Jacob Morse is an American meteorologist working for KFYR as a meteorologist on Saturdays at 6 and 10 p.m. CT and Sundays at 5 and 10 p.m. CT on Your News Leader. He joined the station in May 2021 after working for as an on-air forecaster, host, director, and feature creator at Weather World.
Jacob Morse Education
Morse joined Penn State University in 2017 after finishing his studies at Brookfield High School. In 2021, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology and Atmospheric Science, emphasizing Weather Forecasting and Communications.
During his time in college, Morse participated in numerous TV broadcasts both on the air and behind the scenes, including “Weather or Not,” “The Centre County Report,” and “Weather World.” Additionally, he worked as the head of communications for the Campus Weather Service.
In the summer of 2019, Morse interned at NBC Connecticut (WVIT), where he experienced how to be a broadcast meteorologist. As a NOAA Hollings Scholar, he finished a research project with the National Weather Service in Bismarck, investigating the best methods to communicate winter weather events using graphics.

The Connecticut native has been intrigued and passionate about the weather for as long as he can remember. He has always been excited about big snowstorms since he’s an avid skier and always wanted to know when the mountains of New England had the best ski conditions. He will always remember the October 2011 Nor’easter that led to Halloween’s cancellation in his hometown since more than a foot of snow fell and numerous people were without power.
Morse recalls establishing a weather station outside his house and the excitement he felt anytime a thunderstorm came through his town. He realized the power of Mother Nature when a macroburst with over 100 mph winds hit his hometown in 2018, taking down hundreds of trees and ruining many homes. He is thrilled to live in the beautiful Northern Plains and forecast the ever-changing weather.
