James Hill is an American journalist working for WWSB as a sports anchor and multimedia journalist. He joined the station in March 2022 as a weekend evening news anchor. Previously, he worked as a sports anchor and digital sports editor at BNC.

Hill joined California State University, Northridge when he finished his high school education. While there, he managed the Men’s Basketball Matadors Team. Further, he worked as a public address announcer for the CSUN Women’s Basketball & some Men’s Basketball games. He later graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Radio-TV-Film (Broadcast). He then joined The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where he received his Master of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism.

During his time as a ball boy for the Portland Trailblazers, he gathered 180 pairs of NBA players game worn shoes, and countless autographs.
Sarasota County granted him a certificate of appreciation for his devotion to keeping the community briefed during Hurricane Ian. The Sarasota Martin Luther King, Jr Celebration Committee granted him its MLK Media Excellence Award for broadcasting the Newtown Community. The Mississippi Associated Press Broadcasters Association awarded him for outstanding news photography
