Janny Rodriguez is an American journalist of Cuban descent working for WPTV/WFLX F0X 29 as a co-anchor of WPTV NewsChannel 5 at 11 p.m. She joined the station in August 2018 as a multimedia journalist for the morning show. Previously, she worked for WAGT NBC 26 in Augusta, Georgia as a reporter and anchor for two years.

Rodriguez joined the University of Florida in 2009 after completing her high school education. As a freshman, she started working radio news in Spanish for Florida’s 89.1 WUFT FM, “Noticias.” For 2 semesters, she reported and co-hosted the show.
While at WUFT, Rodriguez recognized her passion for serving the community and started getting involved with TV news. Moreover, she received the Major Garland Powell Outstanding Contribution in Radio and TV Award. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Telecommunications and a Spanish minor.
