Jason Garrett is an American Multimedia Journalist working for NBC News in New York City as a Studio Football Analyst. He joined the station in April 2022 after working as the Head Coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Garrett’s education started with his admission to Holy Cross School in Rumson where he completed his first, second, and third grades. Hailing from a family that loved sports, he developed an interest from a tender age and as a letterman, he participated in football, basketball, and baseball. He later pursued his education at a University School located in Hunting Valley Ohio. While there he even put his athletic qualities into practice enjoying different kinds of sports. In April 2022, Garrett became a part of NBC Sports where he works as a color commentator for multiple programs; for instance, the USFL and Notre Dame football. Moreover, he provides color commentary as an alternate during the NFL games for the NBC Station. His diversified work also includes being a studio analyst identifying situations for NBC’s American football pre-game show, Football Night In America.
He remains engaged in sports media production after his basketball career ended. Down the road, he went on to other programs, including Tony Dungy on NBC Sunday Night Football, thus becoming a staple of NBC Sports in its entirety. Transitioning from riding bicycles to selling vegetables, and from being a sportsman to owning a chain of hospitals, his period was full of milestones and changes that are still in discussion in the sports world.
As a start to his coaching career, Garrett was the quarterbacks coach at the Miami Dolphins. Though, it can be stated that he developed the base for acting as a professional football player with the Washington Redskins, it was with the Dallas Cowboys that he made his final imprint. In different responsibilities and capacities such as the offensive coordinator coach, assistant head coach, and head coach, Garrett holds the record. He earned much of his acclaim when he was involved in coaching, as he was awarded the NFL Coach of the Year in 2016. The Cowboys reached three division titles as a result of his management. Additionally, he had the second-best regular season record after he assumed the position of head coach for the Cowboys.
In 2020, Garrett assumed the position of Offensive Coordinator for the New York Giants. Sadly, he only served there for a short period because he was fired around the 10th game of the 2021 season. Garrett had no prior college coaching experience available in the NFL but he was short-listed for the head coach of the Stanford team.
