Jay Tust Biography
Jay Tust is an American journalist working for KTVB as the sports director since April 2013. He joined the station in July 2011 as a sports anchor and reporter. Previously, he worked for KLEW as a sports director for 3 years.
Jay Tust Education
Tust joined Western Texas College in 2003 when he finished his high school education. In 2004, he transferred to the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University where he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Broadcast Communications in 2006.

Tust has worked for KTVB as the sports director since April 2013. Upon joining the station, he first worked as a sports anchor and reporter. While growing up, he played year-round on select teams. He represented Team Washington at the USA Junior Olympics. He went to Japan after his senior year with Team USA. In 2002, the Cincinnati Reds drafted him in the 28th round of the MLB Amateur Draft.
After playing college baseball for two years, he traded his cleats for a microphone. He began his broadcasting career in Bellevue, Washington at Fox Sports Northwest. While there, he seized opportunities and learned what it takes to be a big market TV. Also, he worked with leading sports personalities in the northwest and broadcasted the Mariners, Seahawks, and the departure of the Sonics.
After his time in Bellevue, he relocated to Lewiston, Idaho where he served KLEW as a sports director. While there, he witnessed when previous former Washington State basketball coach Tony Bennett boarded a private jet for a bigger and “better” job and delivered reports from the sidelines when the Idaho Vandals clinched the Humanitarian Bowl. Also, he secured the last interview with Lewis-Clark State baseball coach Ed Cheff who retired in 2010 with an NAIA record 16 national titles.
