Joe Parris is an American journalist working for KTVB as the chief political reporter since joining the station in May 2016. Since May 2013, he has served Radio 1190 as a news and sports director and host of “News Underground.”

Parris joined the University of Colorado in Boulder in 2012 when he finished his high school education. In 2016, he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree. While in college, he was named the most exceptional student for his work in the classroom, with student groups, and as a journalist and sports broadcaster.

Parris works for KTVB as the chief political reporter. After graduating college, he joined the station as part of the morning team. In this role, he familiarized himself with Idaho where he followed big breaking news across Idaho and brought live reports including weather, crime, and the great Idaho goat escape.
Since 2020, Parris has worked as a daily reporter for the 5 p.m. show that follows Idaho politics, The 208. He won the Idaho Press Club Broadcast Reporter of the Year Award for three consecutive years. He has also contributed to KTVB’s Emmy-awarded newscasts. Broadcasting the Great Goat Escape in 2018 serves as his favorite story. For the story, he won a regional Murrow award for storytelling through social media.
Since May 2013, he has served Radio 1190 as a news and sports director and host of “News Underground.” Also, he has served Superior Roughriders – Western States Hockey League as the media operations director. He has worked as a play-by-play commentator for the University of Colorado Men’s Hockey since September 2013. Moreover, he serves the University of Colorado Men’s Lacrosse Team as a play-by-play commentator.
