Jeff Preval Biography

Jeff Preval is an American anchor, reporter, and multi-media journalist working at WIVB Channel 4. He has been working for the station since joining in the winter of 2021. He previously worked at WGRZ where he served as a multimedia journalist. 

Jeff Preval Career

Preval serves as the weekend anchor and reporter at WIVB Channel 4. He previously worked for WGRZ-TV in Buffalo where he served as a reporter, fill-in-anchor, and multi-media journalist. During his tenure at WGRZ-TV, he lead the reporting team in enclosing the Bethlehem Steel fire which won an Edward R. Murrow award. Furthermore, he was also part of WGRZ’s Emmy award-winning reporting of the ‘Snowvember’ storm in 2014. He also managed to enclose Hurricane Maria and Hurricane Harvey.

Preval has also managed to be nominated for three Salute to Excellence awards with the National Association of Black Journalists. Prior to joining WGRZ, he worked for WTAJ in Altoona, Pa., where he served as an anchor and reporter and enclosed the Jerry Sandusky Scandal at Penn State. During his tenure at WTAJ, he enclosed the ‘Penn State riot’ and was also on the scene when Penn State students flipped WTAJ’s live truck.

Preval started his journalism career at WCBS 880AM in New York City where he served as a desk assistant. During his tenure at WCBS, the Press Club of Long Island awarded him with a radio feature award. He went to Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Broadcast Journalism. Whenever he is not working, he enjoys spending his free time with his family and friends.
