Jennifer Valdez is an American Meteorologist working as a chief meteorologist, weather anchor, and reporter at CBS 46 based in Atlanta, Georgia. She joined the CBS46 News team in the summer of 2008.

In 2022, Valdez was off the air for 5 weeks due to undergoing colon surgery and recuperating. She returned on-air on 12th December 2022. Further, she revealed that she suffered from colon-related illness diverticulitis several times over the past 2 decades. Additionally, she needed antibiotics as a part of her colon was liable to infections.
Due to this, she experienced fevers and severe pain. In 2022 alone, she was hospitalized thrice. Following the advice of doctors, she underwent elective surgery to remove a portion of her colon. Comparing the invasiveness of the surgery to a C-section, she voiced that she had trouble eating and couldn’t move for a couple of weeks
In 2020, she also missed work for a number of weeks due to artificial disc replacement surgery. Prior to the surgery, she was unable to do the dishes or pick anything up from the floor due to a deteriorating disk in her lower back. After the surgery, she could move around like a normal person. She commented on her surgeries; “These two surgeries had nothing to do with each other. Just genetics.”
