Jessica Schmidt is an American reporter and anchor working at FOX19 serving as an anchor. She has been working for the station since joining in September 2016.

Schmidt went to Lakota West High School and later on joined Kent State University’s Honors College where she attained her bachelor’s degree in broadcast news and a bachelor’s degree in psychology in May 2013.

Schmidt serves as an anchor, digital streaming specialist, and special projects reporter at FOX19(WXIX). She also hosts the Crime Vault podcast. Prior to this role, she served as a reporter as well as an anchor. She previously worked for 14 WFIE where she served as an anchor, producer, and reporter from July 2013 to August 2016 in Evansville, Indiana. Prior to that, she worked for TV2 KSU where she served as a news director. She joined TV2 KSU in December 2011 and started off by serving as a classroom content manager till April 2012.

From September 2009 to May 2013, she was serving as an anchor as well as a reporter. Prior to her tenure at TV2 KSU, she worked for Uno Chicago Grill where she served as a hostess from August 2007 to January 2013. While there, she served food and beverages, trained new employees, greeted and seated customers as well as running deliveries.

She had previously interned at LOCAL 12, WKRC-TV from May 2012 to August 2012. While here, she practiced stand-ups, edited web stories, shadowed reporters, and attended morning news meetings. She had previously worked for FOX19 WXIX-TV(Raycom Media) where she served as an anchor shadow and learned daily routine live broadcasts. From May 2007 to July 2007, she worked at New View Management Group where she trained as a model in Cincinnati.
