Jill Gilardi Biography
Jill Gilardi is an American Meteorologist working for WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut serving the station as a Meteorologist since the 9th of November 2022. Prior to this, he was working for WRBC where she served the station as a Weekday Meteorologist for the 12 PM News. She joined the WRBC First Alert Weather team on the 30th of December 2013 and left the station in the month of October 2022.

Jill studied weather at Lyndon State College in Vermont, one of the top meteorology schools in the country, and she also earned the American Meteorological Society’s Certified Broadcast Meteorologist Seal. Gilardi works for WFSB TV serving the station as a Weather Anchor and Reporter. Prior to this, he was working for WRBC where she served the station as a First Alert weather team meteorologist. She holds over 15 years’ worth of experience working as a broadcast meteorologist and served audiences in St. Joseph and Springfield, Missouri. This was before moving to WOWT in Omaha, Nebraska, in the year 2011.
In her career, she has covered ice storms, heat waves, tornado outbreaks, arctic outbreaks, floods, blizzards, flash freezes, tropical systems, and tornado outbreaks. She has experienced several unforgettable events in her career which include “snowmageddon” a couple of weeks after starting at WRBC. This was the first time she ever had to sleep at a TV station.
While she was working in Springfield, she won an honorable mention award for Best Weathercast. For her, weather, and severe weather to be precise, is her passion. She kick-started her career in storm chasing in the year 2008 and has even worked for a storm chasing company called Extreme Chase Tours. Asides from that, she also chases any opportunity she gets because she loves the weather and seeing the entire life cycle of a storm and capturing images of it.
Gilardi is originally from Massachusetts and her passion for weather erupted after Hurricane Gloria in the year 1985. Later on, after this, she became obsessed with tracking hurricanes and always wanted to be in the thick of bad weather. She states that she would beg her parents to either drive her around in 6 inches of snow or take her to the beach to see the waves from a tropical system.
Away from work, she is an animal and nature lover to the core. Asides from that, she enjoys loving on her three dogs and eight cats. She is also a big supporter of the local animal rescue and has three adopted cats from a local Birmingham rescue. Asides from that, away from work she also loves fitness, gardening, yard work, camping, sports, and being an artist.
