Joleen Chaney Biography

Joleen Chaney is an American journalist working for KFOR as a news anchor. She joined the station in June 2007 and served as a weekend writer and assignment editor.

Chaney attended Springs high school and later on went to the University of Lawton where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communications. She then attended Oklahoma university school of law and graduated in 2021 as a Juris Doctor.

Chaney anchors during the weeknights at 4, 6 & 10. She began her career as an intern and got her new job as a  behind scenes weekend writer and assignment editor by KFOR. She landed her first on-air job at KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, TX, and served as a morning anchor right after college. This was when she was still in Cameron University where she was involved in the Honor’s Program and was in her senior year.

By the end of one year, she went back to KFOR-TV serving as a reporter and an anchor. She started working in another station in June 2014 and returned to KFOR in June 2016 and started by serving as the weekday 4 pm anchor and was later on given a raise to main evening anchor due to the retirement of legendary Oklahoma journalist Linda Cavanaugh.

Chaney also takes part in races and has also emceed some races all over the state as well as offering her time and efforts in events benefitting Oklahoma nonprofits. She completed a half-ironman triathlon, hence assisting in raising several thousand dollars for the Lymphoma and Leukemia Society in Oklahoma in 2011. She has also participated in events to benefit the Children’s Miracle Network and the American Diabetes Association.
