Jon Tritsch Career

Tritsch works with KLAS-TV where he serves the station as a Sports Anchor. He applies the message that was once said by Ralph Waldo Emerson, which stated, “Nothing great is ever achieved without enthusiasm.” He has applied this message throughout his entire life but says nothing draws the passion out of him more than sports.  When he had spent about a year in school, he dressed up like a football goalpost for Halloween.

Additionally, he drew Nebraska ‘N” in ketchup on every single sandwich and also read off the class roll with height, weight, and hometown as if it was a starting lineup. Later on, when he was about nine, he moved on to Central Texas where he covered Baylor and the religion of high school football.

For him, there was no turning back, he grew up in Nebraska and played 5 sports in high school and football in college in Minnesota. Despite her love of competing, he was always very aware of his God-given athletic limitations. His focus has always been on becoming a broadcaster. Later on, after his graduation, he went on to become an entry-level reporter in Lincoln where he was covering the University of Nebraska sports but had to work the overnight shift at a grocery store to pay the bills.

He got his first anchoring position while working in Sioux City, Iowa. Later on, he made a move to Central Texas where he was covering Baylor and the religion of high school football. Being the son of a kindergarten teacher, he felt a calling to get out of TV and coach and teach special education at an inner-city high school. For him, this was one of the most rewarding experiences in his life.

However, he couldn’t resist the burning desire to tell stories and cover big games. Additionally, he returned to broadcasting at the CBS/FOX station in Bakersfield and spent about two years anchoring and co-hosting one of the most extensive high school football shows in the country.
