Joshua Bolden Biography
Joshua Bolden is an American journalist working for WVVA as a co-anchor of WVVA Today and solo anchor of WVVA News at Noon since January 2018. He joined the station in June 2016 as a multimedia journalist working out of the Bluefield studios.
Joshua Bolden Education
Bolden joined the University of Memphis in 2009 when he finished his high school education. In 2013, he graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and Multimedia. There, he studied abroad in Mainz, Germany. In 2015, he attained his degree in Spanish Language and Literature from the school. He also studied journalism at the Knight-City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism. There, he created the news division for WHCR in Harlem.
For several years, Bolden worked at AM1480 WBBP as a radio news anchor and at WUMR U92FM as a radio personality. He held an internship at WHBQ-TV in Memphis. He also served FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance.” Bolden previously worked as the vice president of the University of Memphis’ student chapter of the National Association of Black Journalists.
Bolden also worked as a teaching assistant for multiple broadcasting courses at the University of Memphis. He won the university’s NABJ Ida B. Wells award and his journalism department’s Emerging Journalist award.
