Julianne Grohowski is an American journalist working for WBND as a multimedia journalist and reporter since joining the station in December 2021. Previously, she worked as a programming and executive broadcasting director at UIndy TV.
Julianne Grohowski Education
Grohowski joined the University of Indianapolis in 2018 when she finished her studies at John Adams High School. In 2021, she graduated with a Bachelor Of Science degree in Communication focusing on Electronic Media and a Political Science minor.
During college, she was heavily involved with the Department of Communication, particularly the student-run television station, UIndy TV. In 2020, she joined the UIndy TV management staff as the director of creative services. She then worked her way up to programming and executive broadcasting director.
Grohowski partook in more than 100 productions aired on UIndy TV’s channel and subsidiary streaming channels. Additionally, she enjoyed sports reporting, working as the sideline reporter of nearly all basketball and football games for the last two seasons which streamed live on the Division II GLVC Sports Network.
Grohowski won a Grand Prize Video Feature Package award from the National Broadcaster’s Society student competition in 2021. In the spring of 2021, she was elected as president of the school’s chapter of the National Broadcaster’s Society.
Grohowski held an internship at WISH in the fall of 2021. There, she worked and learned from reporters, photographers, anchors, and producers daily in a top 25 market. She won’t forget when she pitched a story about an occasion at her campus after the news director and reporter picked her.

Grohowski works for WBND as a multimedia journalist and reporter. The South Bend native grew up training as a pre-professional ballerina at Southold Dance Theater. There, she performed big roles in the Nutcracker at the Morris Performing Arts Center and multiple spring productions at Notre Dame’s Debartolo Performing Arts Center. She got interested in journalism when she was in high school writing the student-run newspaper, “The Tower.” Her love for performing and journalism pushed her toward a TV broadcasting career.
