Julie Dunphy is an American journalist who has been working for WBRE as a weekend morning news anchor, reporter, and producer since joining the station in January 2020. Previously, she worked for WTAP in Parkersburg, West Virginia, for nearly 3 years.

Dunphy joined York College of Pennsylvania in 2012 after finishing her education at Padua Academy in Wilmington, Delaware. In 2016, she graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications with minors in Photography and Visual Communications. While in college, she played field hockey and club lacrosse for the Spartans.

Dunphy’s first experience on the anchor desk was when she was a senior in high school. If she wasn’t playing field hockey, she filmed stories for PATV. This officially sparked her passion for her future career. She kickstarted her journalism career in March 2017 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. There, she started as the Marietta, Ohio, bureau multimedia journalist at WTAP. She quickly climbed ranks and was promoted to evening news anchor and producer.
During her career at WTAP, Dunphy covered numerous stories that affected the MOV, including her contribution to the awarded coverage of the 10-day-long fire in Parkersburg at the IEI Warehouse in October 2017. She is thrilled to be back in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
