Following her time in Monroe, Giangiacomo moved to Alpena, Michigan, where she served WBKB as anchor and reporter. She then worked as an anchor and reporter at WWCP/WATM in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. She briefly worked director of media relations for the Scranton Police Department. Under the direction of Police Chief Carl Graziano, Giangiacomo created and launched Cops and Kids, a literacy program that helps form strong bonds between police officers and kids in the community.
